Explore Near Our St. Petersburg Hotel

Believe us when we say there’s much more to St. Pete Beach than a heaping helping of Vitamin D, white-sand beaches, and gorgeous sunsets. You’ll also discover tons of activities that are sure to keep you coming back for more! Your private Saint Petersburg sanctuary has fun-filled adventures in store for you and the entire family. Catch a ball game at the Tropicana Field or Dive in to the Florida Aquarium. Maybe even soak up some of the stunning avant-garde art at The Dali Museum or grab a bite to eat at John’s Pass Village. No matter what you do, The Hotel Zamora puts you in the center of all the action.

Tropicana Field

Tropicana Field is where Tampa Bay’s Rays come out to play. That’s real-live fish and baseball players, too. When the boys of summer round the bases in Tampa Bay, it’s at Tropicana Field. Our hotel is near Tropicana Field, so it makes it easy to take yourselves out to the ball game in less than 15 minutes or so. Peanuts and Cracker Jacks are optional, but you’ll also find stadium fare with local flair like Cuban sandwiches and empanadas. Tropicana Field is also home to St. Pete’s annual Gasparilla Bowl.

The Florida Aquarium

Have some under-the-sea adventures that won’t leave you all wet. Unless you want them to. The Hotel Zamora is located near the Florida Aquarium. It’s only about 30 miles from Hotel Zamora, and well worth the excursion if you want to see some amazing aquatics. The Florida Aquarium is one of the top ten in the country and recognized as one of the best kid-friendly aquariums, too. You’ll have lots of ways to experience the seas here, but it’s cool to know The Florida Aquarium walks the talk, too. They’re big into conservation and research and will be glad to show you and tell you all about it.

The Dali Museum

It’s a surrealist’s dream. Which is funny, because most of Salvador Dali’s work looks like stuff you’d find in some amazing dreams, anyway. Salvador Dali was an iconically mustachioed dude with an eye for the avant-garde. His art might seem wacky to some, but he was like the Lady Gaga of his time. Art lovers worldwide see him as a visionary master of surrealism. Surrealistic art is just that – it’s surreal. It’s like nothing you’ve seen before and will probably make you feel things. The best art does.

St. Pete Grand Prix

The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is a legendary street race that puts you up close to the fastest cars on the planet. No really. The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg’s racecourse is officially the fastest there is. The Grand Prix itself is three days of racing along the Tampa Bay waterfront and through almost two miles of downtown near our St. Petersburg hotel. But, the motorsport atmosphere hums way before and after three-day race. Basically, the whole city gets revved up for a week or so. Everything is all about racing. There’s a festival with food, fun and celebrities on the scene as well.

Gasparilla Bowl

Every fall season, college football takes over household televisions and stadiums fill with loyal fans. Finishing off our favorite season are the best games yet. Bowl Games.

Don’t miss the Gasparilla Bowl held every year near our St Pete hotel. Check out our St Pete Beach lodging for more information to book your stay in our two-bedroom suites with the entire tailgating crew.

John’s Pass Village

John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk is a waterfront destination you’ll want to know is out there. People come from all around to visit “The Pass,” as the locals know it, making it the biggest tourist attraction in Pinellas County. It’s the kind of place you’d want to go out of your way to visit. But, if you’re staying at our hotel near John’s Pass, you won’t have to go far at all.

John’s Pass started as a fishing village not long after a hurricane blew through and carved it out of the shoreline back in 1848. Then, an honest-to-goodness pirate named John came through next, so that’s why it’s called John’s Pass.
